TGIF. Or rather, TGI the holidays! :) Not a long one, just 3 days but I hope it will be a productive and fulfilling one. We JE family will be off for our annual Passion Camp 2011. Departing in about, hm, 3 hours and haven't even started packing yet. Heehee.

Anyways, the reason of this post is to let the whole world know that I have an incredible SuperMOM. It's Mother's Day tomorrow, but because we'll all be in camp, I won't be able to call/chat with her. So, I shall dedicate this post to her :) ♥

I actually juuuuusttttt realised that somewhere hidden in my mobile were a stash of my homemade cinnamon buns pictures :) Kinda slipped off my mind of their existance but, :) found 'em!

I'm just so very disturbed by some articles/videos I stumbled upon.

No, I'm not trying to diss the religion, I'm not, but I'm just in a state of ... shock... and, disbelief, from my personal point of view.

I declare today - a memorable day.

Just like any other day, with the same-ol' waking up early for Urology class, but, with additional sweets, candies and icing in between and along the way :)

My morning began with a phone call home. The familiar voice of mommy greeting me, nothing beats that :)

Just a 5-min call and both parties were happy.

Left home and sent a Hello & Good morning to Papa and received a 'Muah3 and Love Ya' in return. Double plus plus. :)

After class, went over to Hiroshima hostel to 'surprise' meLove and then participated in a little get-together with my group mates on our secret mission; to be revealed in the month of May. (wait for it!!) hehe

And the best part was having Kim's first CG today. Yes, this was the highlight of my day. Being with family and sharing and growing together, strengthening our spiritual walk with God together. Bliss~ :) I really really hope this will be our platform to arise and step up to the occasion, be the person He wants us to be and bring a positive change to the people around us. This is what I've always envisioned when I think of my little family here in Volgograd, literally :)

And I hope this will come true for us. I really really do.

Then, came home, and another icing on the cake - someone awesome added me on Facebook. Pretty cheesy to post about this but it made me very very happy. Hint - I loved him since 2003 ( another hint - see previous post ) hahahahahaha. wooohoo! ♥

Ok, cheese aside, today, 19.03.11, was indeed an awesome day for me. Taking a step back and analyzing every details, I know and again reassured myself that I am blessed with great people around me.

All I want now is to be humble and soak up the joy He provided. :)

I've been waiiiiitinggggg for this moment for soooo long now.

The time when you can actually, breathe. Exams, I'm so over you! For now :)

Despite the stress and laments and ventings and complains throughout this examination month, I realised how (again) blessed I am, surrounded by awesome people .

First and foremost, ze boyfriend. Who had to put up with all my nonsense. Lol.

And even sent me a 'care package' on the night before my final exam, complete with food and dessert :)

Not to forget, the prayers he said every night before I went to bed. ♥

And surprisingly :P my brother wasn't short on showing his love too.

Always 'visiting' me in my room, and even cooked me lunch a day before my Operative Surgery exam.

Cream pasta. :)

And of course a whole lot of well wishes from here and there.

Thank you so much for them all, I really appreciate it!

I REALLY thank God for everything. All this would not have happened if it wasn't for Him. :)

On a less emotional note, I am so happyyyy happy happy happpyyyy :D Happy that it's done done done! :)))

Went shopping right after my ENT exam, got myself a pair of bling bling shoes, and a black top from New Yorkers, walked in the rain, went for lunch with Kelvin, fell twice on the ice!! Punctured my left thenar from the fall =/ (with a sore bum), lazed around in the room for hours and hours watching series before I fell asleep.

Ah, I love this feeling.

And even more exciting, Moscow Airport bombing yesterday. Hah, what a timing! Will be there tomorrow and join in the commotion. :P

Russia never ever fails to surprise me really.

But I know and am sure that we will all be safe. God is with us. He will protect us. :)

Right now, I gotta get my lazy ass out of bed! Wash up, freshen up, continue my series marathon, go out shopping, get some vodka and souvenirs if I can find any, catch the train to Moscow and, in no time, I'll be homeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!

Just got off the phone with Momma dearest, catching up and chatting and updating our plans for my short little vacation back home to Malaysia in 1.5 weeks time.

And by short, I mean, S-H-O-R-T. *grumbles

But, having given the adventures have in stalled, I really can't wait! :) Can't wait can't wait! :D

It's gonna be so fun! And I'm thinking, a rather emotional one too. Oh well, will not get into details, don't wanna jinx them ;) But it's really hyper-ing me up right now. Weeeeeeeee :)))

Plus, the Chongs will finally FINALLY be re-united back together after 5 years.

Yep, Fiona will be going back all ze way from America, Yours truly all ze way from Snowland Russia :)

The sad thing is, I'll only be spending 1/3 of my whole time in Penang. Which is, a total of only :

3 DAYS!

I'm oldddddddddddddddddddddddd-er a year today! Dang!

But then again, I'm so grateful and thankful to the Lord for allowing 23 years of happiness, sadness, challenges, ups and downs, and roller coaster rides in my life. And also for granting me with the greatest Papa, Mommy and Sis who are just...wonderfully fantastically awesome. I look up to them, and adore them like anything.

I'm just too driven by laziness to update posts I guess.

And of course, much have been happening.

It's the study-for-exam season now, I get pretty stressed easily (damn the KIASU-ness!) but me have to get a break some time some where, and that time is now :)

Let's see, the past month - there was the Christmas, the NYE, the Nuya itself, but AH I don't think I'll follow the cliche-ness and blog about them, I can bet almost every blog that exists has posts about them. But MAyyyyybe, maybe I'll be just be 20% cliche and post some pictures. :D

I've always loved grocery shopping, especially at the morning markets.

Yes it does get kinda rough sometimes with the grumpy and receptor-less old babushkas, dragging their 2kg load of potatoes and what-nots banging their way through and not feel a single thing? =/

Beats me sometimes =/ but it's all fun and good when you're there with the partner :)

Many a times, whether we realise it or not, I guess we tend to get overly densed in our heads, running around like crazy people getting carried away with the world, without realising that we are actually slowly drifting away from the basic things in life and what matters most to us in life.

I for one, am not an exception.

I have to admit, life now seems awesome on the facade.

Great family, partner, friends, companions; good life. Great indeed.

God has put wonderful people in my life, those who love me, those who i love, great opportunities and I am overly grateful for that.

Which brings me down to my personal challenge;

- keeping my balance among them, sowing and nurturing my relationships with each and everyone of them, and especially my spiritual walk with God thus, to set my priorities right!

It's not easy really. I realise we always choose the easy way out in life.

We tend to fool ourselves thinking that the people around us will always be there for us in times of our need, hence neglecting them and when we're happy and jolly, we get too carried away with it and tend to forget about what others are facing and feeling really.

For all you know, they might be going through hell; financial problems, broken relationships, loneliness etc.

And its our job, MY job for one, which i feel so obligated to do and fulfill as a person, to keep in touch with them, to make them feel wanted and appreciated, to make them know that they can rely on me, to make them know that I have got their backs, YET keeping myself happy and in-check at all times.

Oh it's a juggle. No doubt about it.

Thus, at this very moment, cloudy 12-degree windy weather outside, in the warmth of my room and a hot coffee in hand, i have an aim : an aim to Stay Grounded. and I need Him. more than ever before.

I need His comfort, I need His support, I need His peace...

Yet another cycle down.

Just finished Endocrinology, proceeding to Radiology next. YESSS!

Time to relax and start picnic-ing in class. YESSSS again! :)

Today was Den' Otlichnikov or in lay man's term; Day of Excellence.

Was pleasantly surprised the event started right on time at 1pm and finished exactly an hour later, 2pm.

Thank God no draggy draggy nonsense like previous years and also THANK GOD that 'Dancing-Queen' chick did not perform. HARHAR.

( Think she finally realised how 'wonderful' she was ) heheh

Other than the different performances from different countries, there were also a speech by Spasov, slideshows / videos and of course, the prize giving ceremony. :)

So Yours truly is now taking up Hangul lessons, or in other words - the Korean Language.

Wouldn't hurt to add another language in my literature.

It was my first class 2 days ago, and hmm, pretty interesting.

I think it's actually easier to learn, because the characters are a combination of 24 letters, rather than a few thousand more or less random drawings like in Chinese =/

Well, we'll see how long I'll last in this Korean chapter of mine, because the last time I've checked, me dwelling in the German language did not last too long. Entschuldigung.
Prolly not over 2 months even.

Just when I thought I need at least half a years' recuperation from over excessive travelling and flying from Moscow to Germany to Italy, to interstates in Italy, to US, from the east coast to the west coast of America, all done in less than 2 months.....

Here I am, sitting amidst my books thinking and longing for more.

It has only been a little over a month after that little world-explore-expedition, but I kinda thirst for more MORE MORE right at this very moment.

I miss the feeling of leaving a familiar place and setting foot in a new foreign land.

I miss the feeling of exploring new things that my brains hunger for.

I miss the feeling of seeing new things and meeting new people.

I miss trying new food, trying their delicacies, even if it's just an ordinary $5 american junk.

I miss the feeling of packing and rushing for a flight.

I miss the feeling of venturing through the cities aimlessly and go 'WOW' at every little thing.

I miss the feeling of being surrounded by people of a different language.

I miss being oh-so-touristy and taking pictures of the dumbest things.

I miss the feeling of just waking up and the only thing to worry about is which dress to wear, which ear rings to match it with, and where to conquer for the day.

I miss it all. I do...

I came across this e-mail yesterday, and I think it's rather awesome :)

...She is pregnant. He had just saved her from a fire in the house. When he was finally done putting out the fire, he sat down to rest and catch his breath.

A photographer from the the Charlotte, North Caroline newspaper, noticed her in the distance looking at the fireman. He saw her walking towards the fireman and wondered what she was going to do.

As he raised his camera, he came up to the tired man who had saved her life and the lives of her babies and kissed him just as the photographer snapped this picture.

Offering his guests coffee, the professor went to the kitchen and returned with a large pot of coffee and an assortment of cups - porcelain, plastic, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to hot coffee.

When all the students had a cup of coffee in hand, the professor said: "If you noticed, all the nice looking expensive cups were taken up, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones.

While it is normal for each of you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress.

What all of you really wanted was coffee, not the cup, but you consciously went for the best cups and were eyeing each other's cups.

Now if life is coffee, then the jobs, money and position in society are the cups.

They are just tools to hold and contain Life, but the quality of Life doesn't change.

1200g tapioca flour
13 eggs yolks + 2 egg whites
400g fine sugar
500g coconut milk

13 egg yolks??????

Hahahaha I feel rich with rempahs!

Because I did not return to Malaysia this summer, of course I couldn't 'reload' on my rempahs, and what more, our beloved mama here threw everything in the fridge, including my brand new jar of tom yam paste and dried shrimps. HMPH!

But thank God for good friends and good people who gave me rempahs.

Got a packet of sambal tumis from Shehsheh and a whooleeeeeeee bag of rempahs from my buddyboi Sibol :) YAY!

My 3rd year of med studying has finally and officially come to an end :)

Had my practical exams the day before yesterday, and it all went great. Thank God for it. And it was our first time answering orally in Russian. So, double triple thanks to God again. :)

It's 10:16 am right now. Got up not too long ago but boy was the room HOT.

Didn't sleep too well, kept thinking about all the details for the trip later.

It kills to be a perfectionist sometimes. Heh.

Anyways, I'm about 40% packed. LOL.

About 5 hours before The Journey starts. :)

Gotta speed things up! But it's so hard deciding what to bring and what NOT to bring, considering that I'd be using budget airlines and they're famous for cutting throats at the slightest excess baggage. GAHHH.

Anyways The much-awaited-Journey starts with

A 21-hour train ride from Volgograd to Moscow. I hope and pray I will not roast/boil/toast in this HEAT WAVE we're experiencing, considering how "modern" these trains are. -___-"

2. A day in Moscow. Where I think Mr Boyfriend kinda planned in his head to eat
   in Rostiks or in other words, KFC. :P He kinda hinted a few times but miss
   cruel me pretended I didn't hear. HARHARHAR.

3. Fly to Berlin, Germany, Deutschland! :)
   Guten tag! Ich heise Lily! Wie heisen sie? Ich bin froh Sie wieder zusehen.
   LOL. Maybe I can flaunt my only-1-month-German-lesson/course which I lost
   interest in after a few lessons thanks to the donkey teacher. :P

Then, OFF TO ITALIA!

First stop. Naples.

Next. Hop around beautiful islands off the coast of Naples :)

Specifically - Ischia and Capri.

Simply breathtaking rightttt.

Next - to Roma, Italia!

Then to Milano, the city of Fashion! Well I've actually been there last winter but it wouldn't hurt to visit that place again right ;)
I guess I will be the tour guide there now then. Hehe.

( You do realise I'm cutting down on info already right. Because I am super rushing for time now! Haha. Gotta get hella lot of things to settle before leaving soon, ARGH! )

That journey will definitely be a super different experience and I can't wait!

Back when I was suffering from Pre-Pharmaco syndrome, I didn't really bother much about my eating habit. Ended up skipping meals etc.

Til one night I was sho SHO hungry.

And out of the blue, little junior came offering her extra portion of noodles.

Such a coincidence!

( ooops, spilled some meat over. Hehe )

Simple dish, but tasted SO good at that time! :)

That's why I shall call it Comfort Food.

Really reminded me of Mie Pangsit from Medan.

My own modified apple crumble + pie. :)

Here goes : lesson 101. :P

mix the batter consisting of - flour, baking powder, sugar, milk

Mix in the melted butter into the batter.

And in my opinion, bake this fella for about 10 minutes before arranging the apples.
( although in the recipe's instructions, it said to just arrange them in with the wet batter ) oh, whatever and whichever you prefer. :)

arrange arrange.
I did apples + peach with some ahem ahem secret ingredients :P

sprinkle the crumbly crumbs

and bake it till it becomes golden brown.

Scoop it up.

AND EAT!! :)

easy peasy!

Of course you can add ice cream to spice up the flava, but i just couldn't do it, because I kinda went a bit overboard with the sugar.

Note to self : CUT down on the sugar. Never follow the amount given in the recipes!

Man, i just realised I haven't logged in to this site for a very very VERY long time.

If this place was an attic, hmm, it would be filled and fulllll with dust already.

Nevermind, time to dust them off and get back into action! ;)

Reason why I kept putting blogging aside was partly because I was drowned in my books for the past month, it was very very intense. Was having 5 final donkey exams, NO JOKE.

Surgery, Therapy, Pat. Physiology, Pat. Anatomy and my final paper this morning - the dreaded Pharmaco.

Really, no joke man.

Even conversations with my friends were structured with medical terms, like

a : HAIYO MY ADRENAL GLANDS ATROPHY LIAO.

b : YOUR HEAD LA. HYPERTROPHY FIRST LA.

a : TSK, ALREADY HYPERTROPHY, SO NOW ATROPHY LA.

b : OH YA HOR.....

And also, why I didn't dare to log in here was the fear of being agitated.....which I would not go into details with cuz I don't want to sound like a total weirdo.

SO ANYWAYS.

Did I say I was done with my exams? :D kikikiki.

But er, for like a few days ONLY because WONDERFUL practicals will be starting next week.

Went to see the after-effects of a woman's left extremity's amputation.

Not just an amputation, more like an exarticulation of the whole left leg at the hip joint.

Could practically see the 'socket' in that joint. Really cool.

But of course, really unfortunate for the lady.

My friend actually saw tears rolling down from her eyes eventhough she was on anaesthesia.

Poor woman.

REASON : She was a chronic smoker. Heh.

This morning Yours Truly went for her Radiology class 45 minutes away from her home, hopping on and off buses, did a test, travelled all the way back to Kim-20 for yet another dose of Radiology lecture.

OK, that's not the point.

Today was my first Ambulance Practicals.

The group mates left ahead of me.

Didn't matter because at least I'd have some time alone.

Took some pictures along the way.

Was rather a gloomy day.

Everything was melting, it was all wet and muddy.

And as I was walking, Butterfly Kisses played on my Ipod.

That was the first thing that came into my mind.

Oh how I miss him.

If you know me well enough, you'd understand the sentimental-ness I have for that song.

The setting and the atmosphere at that time made me felt so emo.. aish!

He turned a year older exactly 12 days ago, along with Min Xin and Jun's dad. lol!

Yes, it is THAT freaky that 3 of us' dads were borned on the same day.

But I think it's cool :)

So I shall dedicate this post to my beloved most awesome Superdad, the best dad in the whole wide world, the coolest most 'chun' dad I can ever ask for.

I LOVE YOU.

Its 2.51pm on a Friday afternoon.

I should be in Pharmacology class now according to the timetable AND I should be sitting for my Concluding tests at this moment.

BUT :)

Yours truly is at home, in the comforts of her room, in front of her laptop, posting this blog.

LOL.

No I did not skip class, don't worry :) I've never did.

Neither have I tried 'otrabotka'-ing before.

I have a clean record just so you know :D

But, back to the main point, what I'm trying to say here is,

Women Rock :)

Our awesome Pharmaco teacher a.k.a. Julia Roberts strutted into class and surprised us girls by saying-

"Because it's Women's Day this Monday, the girls will all get double 5s for Prescription tests and for Theoretical tests too and you may go home now. Boys, take out your papers and prepare for Prescription writing."

WAH!!

Gosh you cannot imagine the relieve I felt!

I was so 'tension' last night cramming both Therapy and Pharmaco concluding together.

Thank God! really!

So I'm very happy now, am in a very good mood :) and later I'll go shopping with myHun and then go work out with my roomies, go for Surgery class tomorrow morning and right after Pat Physiology lecture, hop on the van and head for Missions in Akhtubinsk for the next 2 days!

Great weekend ahead!

Will be busy, will be tired but it's all good :)

Because it's Women's Day this Monday, I want to wish you, you and you chicks out there Happy Women's Day. We rock!

This morning before leaving for my delayed Surgery class at 10am, I had some time to spare so Yours truly screened through some old pictures. Like really OLD ones. Some taken before I was borned and some taken even before I was fertilized :)

The Journey Home and Back.

I know this page is super stale by now, haven't been keeping up with this for almost 3 weeks now.

So to make up for it, I shall contemplate a very very long post :) I'll try. Hehe and it's about my journey back home to Malaysia and back again to Russia.

So after the exams, I left Volgograd for Moscow by train.

Some dear people came to say goodbye and to see me off in the blistering cold :)

After 19 hours on the train, reached Moscow Airport and headed to Bangkok.

Had 13 hours to spare in Suvarnabhumi Airport. I thought it would be a gruelling 13-hour wait but to my surprise, it went by so fast. TOO FAST! haha.

Hmm, come to think about it, What did I actually DO? :/ lol

Well, first off, I spent almost 40 minutes walking aimlessly looking for the hotel room. lol.

Once found, checked in and straight away SHOWERED! That took up a lot of time too given the fact that I did not bathe for the past 2 days. Yikes! :/ And then, Yours truly could not resist the queen sized bed, so I went to Sleeeeep :)

That killed another few hours, woke up and went for lunch.

Green curry and Tom Yam supposedly. Personally I think their standard jatuh liao.

But no worries, Yours truly can eat and wallop anything! :)

Camwhored a little too :P

I was just about to get used to my life living in an airport, only to realise it was time to board the jetplane again. Next stop - PENANG! :)

Spent 10 days in Malaysia and it was one fruitful trip!

Everyday was filled with all kinds of activities, meet ups, catch ups, shopping, makans, lepaks, gossips, camwhorings, family time and a whole lot more. Those of which I shall just upload pictures and shut my mouth because as you know, Pictures say a thousand words :)

It was our first time trying out this recipe and it turned out really good!

The little cute round ones are Cashew nut Cookies which mom made. They tasted walaueh! Bravo Mama! And erm, the bigger ones on the bottom right and top left are.. hehe.. no-name-cookies hand-made and modified by - ME! :)

Many more things and events happened definitely, all I can say is I had an awesome and wonderful time back home this time. Away from the crazy cold winter to the warmth of summer with sea blue skies and cotton candy clouds besides the amazing companies and most importantly being with Family :)

Felt so much love coming in all directions and I thank God for all that. He rocks my world :) hehe.

After roasting in sunny Malaysia, it was time to head back to Russia.

So I left on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again. Oh babe, I hate to go..

A walk down memory lane.

Was in Ipoh earlier this afternoon.

This was the place I spent 10 of my early baby years in.

Much have changed.

Could hardly recognise the roads and buildings anymore.

But one thing remains unchanged - the memories.

We were running errands around the city, I was practically Lost In Ipoh. :)

But I enjoyed getting roasted in the scorching sun with Superdad while Supermom ran in and out of banks and shops to settle her "mommy-jobs".

And then, it struck me.

I was standing right in front of this VERY familiar building.

And instantly, tons of memories of Her flooded in.

I froze. Literally.

I stood there.

Stunned.

It was the place I first wore a pretty little white dress holding a bouquet of pink carnations.

It was the first time being dolled-up walking down the aisle accompanying Her.

It was the place I saw her looking so beautiful, witnessing her say 'I do'.

That place - Ipoh Baptist Church.

Did not change one bit. Still with the red roofs and white walls :)

And that Her I was talking about?

Ashley Kam Wai Heng.

Or rather Chiechie Wai Heng.

I MISS HER SO MUCH!

It has been more than 10 years now...

Unfortunately, or rather, fortunately, she is now in a better place.

Back in heaven in the arms of God.

Yes, it has been more than 10 years.

But I still miss her.

And I will ALWAYS miss her...

I've always enjoyed travelling, partly because I can see the many different cultures of the many different people in this world.

Just stand in the midst of a busy airport and you can see different cultures revolving around you.
Different skin colour, different languages, different hairstyles, different body shapes and figures, different ages, different religions, different hair colours, tattoos and piercings, different sense of fashion, and the different characters people have, from the pushy and bossy little Indian donkey brat girl which I met earlier today at the airport (!!!!), to the obedient little Chinese boy holding and guiding his grandmama's hand ( :] ), or even the bigbang supershot manager from Germany who sat beside me in the aeroplane earlier today.

We, homo sapiens are such interesting creations no?

I can just sit there and watch the world go by and absorb the crazy little things people do.
It's so mind tickling. :) At least I feel so.

And OH, I forgot, the different 'fragrances' that would revolve around you too!

These pictures were taken last week before sending our fellow bro Kerwin off, who had to head back to Malaysia on a very short notice, on a very very unforeseen reason.

Eventhough it was a crazy last minute rush, I felt a certain peace in my heart.

I felt God's presence so strong at that time, at that place that night.

It was beautiful.

Yes, it is just a temporary goodbye, he'll be back soon enough, and I pray that our God will continue to pour out His blessings onto him and strengthen him and his family back at home.

And I know that our sweet Lord will never forsake this precious lil child. :)

Many would find it disgusting, but I for one, enjoy it very very much. hehe.

Growing up, my dad cooked the best 'Bak Kut Teh' with intestines, stir-fried liver & ginger, and many many more which, I, hmmm, come to realise, do not know their names =/

We had a humble dinner together as a group for the first time this semester, well, more like to symbolise the end of the semester and to usher in the new year :)

Come to think about it, I've been in this group for 4 years now.

I have to admit, I wasn't too fond of the unseemingly LOUD SPEAKING and CRAZY boys of my group at first, but somehow it sorta grew on me over the years, gotten accustomed to it and I treasure them more than anything now :)

These people were the ones who taught me how to be a CHINESE for goodness sake! lol

I came here 4 years ago as a *cough* "Banana", and I can proudly say and self-declare right now that I'm a lemon, yellow on the outside, yellow on the inside too! HEHE
